Welcome to your "home away from home".

Since we unfortunately cannot welcome you in person, we would like to briefly introduce ourselves.

We are my husband Oliver and I (Stefanie), a German-Swiss family, primarily based in the lively city of Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

While my husband takes care of all legal, technical, and informational matters concerning activities and information related to Riederalp, I take care of the apartment's interior, reservations, and public web presence, or this website.

Oliver (he is the Swiss one among us) works as an editor at the public broadcasting station (Hessischer Rundfunk), while I, a trained hotel specialist and hotel manager with a very strong inclination towards cooking, am employed as a cook and housekeeper in a kindergarten.

We have three grown sons in total, of whom only the youngest still lives with us and considers Riederalp his second home, as he always enjoyed his summer and winter holidays here with his grandparents. All of them learned to ski here and some now come with their own young families.

We are accompanied by our Icelandic Sheepdog, Rúnar, who also considers Riederalp his second home, quite literally, and sometimes with a bit too much barking. Our family is rounded out by our house cat, Lulu, who, during our stays on Riederalp, has found a second home with some very dear regular guests, for which we are very grateful. And because everything here is so personal, we want you to feel not "just" in a holiday apartment, but rather a little bit at home, and to be able to experience many wonderful moments "up here" – that is very important to us.

Even though we can't be there in person for understandable reasons, we wish you a wonderful and pleasant stay, a relaxing break, and beautiful memories to take with you. If you enjoyed your time with us, we would of course be delighted to receive a kind compliment in our guestbook. However, criticism and suggestions are just as important to us, because only in this way can we improve next time!

If you would like to spend your holiday at the Basilisk again next year, we would be happy to make a non-binding pre-reservation for you. A short email during or immediately after your stay is perfectly sufficient and does not need to be done via the booking calendar.

As winter guests, you have until September 31st of the current year, and as summer guests until March 31st of the following year, to decide whether you would like to convert your pre-reservation into a confirmed reservation. If we do not hear from you by then, we will automatically cancel the pre-reservation. This ensures that the Basilisk is always available during your usual travel times.

With warmest regards, yours

Stefanie Bodensohn and Oliver Diers
